Single-Family House in Roda de Berà
Roda de Berà
As with all our commissions, we began the work by analysing the client’s requirements and the specific characteristics of the plot. Determining the appropriate siting of the building within the plot is fundamental to achieving effective internal and external layouts, ensuring that the various intended uses benefit from optimal conditions. The specific requirements for this project included a secondary residence, a swimming pool, and uncovered parking for three vehicles.
The dwelling is designed with its main façade oriented toward the South, providing a generous, sun-drenched space for the pool, terrace, and garden throughout the day. The West side, situated in an area recessed relative to the rest of the plot, accommodates the uncovered parking and the main access point. The careful planning and configuration of the entry points and their immediate surroundings successfully ensure the privacy of the exterior leisure areas, which are shielded from outside views.
Inside the dwelling, the distribution follows a linear flow, transitioning from the more public areas (day zone) to the most private ones (night zone), with the primary bedroom suite situated in the most secluded part of the house.
All spaces and rooms benefit from natural lighting and ventilation. We have taken particular care to design layouts that facilitate cross-ventilation, thereby ensuring the most comfortable interior temperature possible and allowing for a reduction in the use of mechanical cooling systems. This objective is further supported by the solar protection offered by the cantilevered porch.
